God Wants To Save You

Peter writes in II Peter 3:9 That God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The Problem: We have all sinned and are spiritually lost and dead!

• Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
• Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
• Ephesians 2:8, 9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

So you see that every one of us is hopelessly lost spiritually and we cannot remedy our situation.

The Solution: God sent His Son to die in our place paying the price for our sin.

• I John 2:2 “And he (Jesus) is the propitiation (sin payment) for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
• Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
• I Peter 2:24a “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,”

So you see God loved us enough to send His Son to pay the price for us.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

My Part: I must realize my need and trust Jesus for what He did for me.

• Acts 16:31b “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,”
• John 1:12 “ But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
• John 5:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

Assurance: God wants you to be certain of heaven!

I John 5:11-13 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

My Prayer: Just tell God that you know you are lost and you are trusting Jesus’ death.

Suggested Prayer: Heavenly Father, I understand that I am a sinner and in need of a Savior. Thank you for loving me enough to send your Son to pay the penalty for my sin. I place my trust in Jesus Christ and his death to save me. Thank you for saving me.
